Now were getting good!  The largest variety of images painted of a single subject is my beloved Blaze Starr.  How could you go wrong?!  These are some examples of the 5" x 7" size.

Divine

Divine
Divine screen, as requested as Memorial Stadium.  This is my favorite screen to paint.   And what would Divine be without glitter.  I could not wait to find a reason to add glitter to my screens.
And yet how could a screen with glitter get any better?  The eyeshadow glows-in-the-dark!

This is also the screen John Waters has in his collection.  It'll take you a few Natty Bohs to get the story out of me on how I got the screen to him.

Divine (Harris Glenn Milstead ~ 1945-1988). A Baltmore treasure

Memorial Stadium

Memorial Stadium

Tie for 2nd on the popularity list is the late Memorial Stadium (1950-1997, demolished 2001).  Oh the fond memories I have of this place. I was there for Earl Weaver & Brooks Robinson's last games & I remember laughing at Wild Bill Hagy.

I know every time one of these screens are sold, it's brings the same nostalgia to others.

Rowhomes

Rowhomes With Marble Steps
My 1st small screen & by far the most liked.  I've painted probably close to 400 of these.  Probably more but my memory is shot.

The image is of the NW corner of North Linwood Ave & Orleans Street in East Baltimore.  I shot the photo while sitting at the light.  Well that's the story, I shot the photo while driving.  As popular as it is, it was worth the risk.

The homes in this are were built around 1920.  They include the iconic white marble steps that at one time, were proudly scrubbed with Bon Ami powder & Pumice stone.  A glistening stoop was a point of pride in the Baltimore neighborhoods.

Miniature

Miniature Screens
My miniature screens were created in 1989 when I was asked to take part in my 1st exhibit.  A gallery owner & friend saw the screens of my home & asked me to be part of a show with the legends of the craft.  I was requested to hang my masterpiece reproductions.  Since they were being used in my home I begrudgingly accepted but had hoped none of them would sell.
I quickly created small 5" x 7" painted screens that could be admired not as utilitarian but as art.  It also brought the art inside for the owner to enjoy rather than the outsider which is the case with traditional painted screens.  I paid homage to the movements roots by painting Baltimore scenes & personalities.   These scenes & sizes quickly caught on & a 2nd career was born.

As with all of my screens presented as art, these are backed in a black material for better viewing.  The small screens can be hung or displayed on flat surface.

1st screens

Arrangement in Grey and Black
My 1st screens were masterpiece reproductions. Screen painting having long been looked down upon as a tacky folk art, I just had to paint every recognizable masterpiece you were taught to admire. Created as a tongue-in-cheek blending of my art museum career & my Baltimore roots.
